If you took two groups of people with psoriasis and had one group meditate and the other not meditate, how much better would you think the meditation group would fare?
Jon Kabat-Zinn, a leader in the field of meditation and mind-body connection, demonstrated that people with moderate to severe psoriasis who meditated while undergoing photo therapy showed a four times greater improvement in their condition compared to those who didn’t meditate while in the light box.
Four times improvement! Just by sitting quietly and being guided through a meditation!
This shows just how powerful our mind can be. Our thoughts can physically change our cells.
Meditation is something that I have implemented in my life and I cannot overstate how immensely helpful meditation is to our well-being.

I practice both guided meditation and transcendental meditation. There is an app you can download on your phone called Insight Timer that will keep track of your meditation practice.
Ideas, insights, ease of mind, an increased ability to handle stress, and more clarity in my life are all things I at least partially contribute to my daily meditation practice. I find it ironic how we will literally do almost everything else before we get to meditation, when meditation can provide incredible healing benefits at a cheaper cost (free) with greater benefit.
What drew me to TM was the science. Then I found out that Gabrielle Bernstein, Russell Brand, Sheryl Crow, Ellen DeGeneres, Clint Eastwood, Hugh Jackman, Miranda Kerr, Miguel, and Oprah Winfrey all practice it. As someone who obsessively researches things I’m interested in, it was transcendental meditation that showed me the best science and had the most support. I can’t recommend TM enough.
